On Sunday, October 18, the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory String Ensemble brought music to Laviosa’s raw materials corridor

A landmark in Livorno dedicated to work, raw materials, production processes, and mineral chemistry was transformed, for one morning, into a space dedicated to music, culture, and community.

On Sunday, October 18, the concertby the String Ensemble of the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory of Livorno took place in the raw materials corridor of the Laviosa plant, featuring the student orchestra “Arkattak, ” conducted by Maestro Luca Provenzani.

The initiative stems from the collaboration and synergy between Laviosa, the Laviosa Foundation, and the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory, with the involvement of the company’s Welfare Team. It is part of an ongoing effort through which the Laviosa Foundation, in collaboration with the Welfare Team, invests in corporate cultural welfare, recognizing culture as a tool capable of fostering well-being, engagement, and opportunities for connection.

This first event was aimed at Laviosa employees, their families, children, and regular participants in the Laviosa Foundation’s initiatives, with the goal of offering a shared experience that goes beyond the usual settings and routines of corporate life and work schedules.

The first major concert at the company, open to the public, will take place this spring.

The choice of location was an integral part of the project.

Bringing an orchestra into the raw materials corridor means creating a dialogue between two seemingly distant worlds: the industrial world and the world of culture, which generally speak different languages.

It was precisely in the spaces where production takes place every day that the music came to life, transforming the heart of the plant for one morning into a place of listening, emotion, and sharing.

The musical program featured a journey through the soundtracks of the masters Ennio Morricone and Astor Piazzolla, with special attention also given to the youngest attendees through Disney music.

Giovanni Laviosa, recipient of the “Cavaliere del Lavoro” honor and President of the Laviosa Foundation, emphasized the importance of building bridges between business, culture, and the community.
