From Raw Materials to Melodies: Laviosa Transforms the Heart of Its Plant into a Concert Hall
On Sunday, October 18, the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory String Ensemble will bring music to Laviosa’s raw materials corridor
Livorno, October 18, 2026 – A landmark in Livorno dedicated to work, raw materials, production processes, and mineral chemistry is transformed, for one morning, into a space dedicated to music, culture, and community.
On Sunday, October 18, the Laviosa plant’s raw materials corridor will host a concertby the String Ensemble of the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory of Livorno, featuring the “Arkattak” Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Luca Provenzani.
The initiative stems from a collaboration between Laviosa, the Laviosa Foundation, and the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory, with the involvement of the company’s Welfare Team. It is part of an ongoing effort through which the Laviosa Foundation, in collaboration with the Welfare Team, invests in corporate cultural welfare, recognizing culture and music as tools capable of fostering well-being, engagement, and opportunities for connection.
The event is open to Laviosa employees, their families, children, and regular participants in the Laviosa Foundation’s initiatives, with the goal of offering a shared experience that goes beyond the usual settings and routines of work life and the corporate schedule.
The choice of location is an integral part of the project. Bringing an orchestra into the commodities trading floor means creating a dialogue between two seemingly distant worlds: the industrial world and the world of culture. Make different sounds.
It is precisely in the spaces where production takes place every day that the music will come to life, transforming the heart of the plant—for one morning—into a place of listening, emotion, and sharing.
The musical program will take the audience on a journey through the soundtracks of the masters Ennio Morricone and Astor Piazzolla, with a special focus on the youngest audience members. In fact, the morning will feature a special segment for children ages 5 to 11, including a creative workshop led by artist Giulia Bernini and a concert designed just for them, featuring some of the most famous theme songs and music from cartoons that have entertained generations of viewers.
The initiative is thus intended to be much more than just a concert: it is an opportunity to experience the company in a different light, sharing its spaces with family members and building a bridge between business, culture, and the community.
“For us, cultural welfare is a concrete way to care for people, creating opportunities that go beyond the workplace and can foster well-being, relationships, and participation. “We wanted to bring music to places where you wouldn’t normally expect to find it: into the workplace, at the heart of the factory, and right alongside the raw materials that are part of our daily lives. It’s a way to open up the company to people, families, and the local culture.”
The partnership with the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory also strengthens the bond between Laviosa and the region’s cultural and educational heritage through a project that focuses on music as a tool for participation, education, and community building.
The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome reception for guests at Laviosa on Via Galvani. At 10:00 a.m ., the “Arkattak” Orchestra will perform a concert for adults, while a creative workshop for children will take place at the same time. At 10:45 a.m., the “Arkattak” concert for young children will begin, featuring the most famous cartoon theme songs. The morning will conclude at 11:00 a.m. with a snack for everyone.
Admission is free and requires a reservation.
