1922 – 2022 Laviosa turns 100 years old.
100 years of industrial history.
100 years of successes, bets and challenges won, experimentation, professional involvement and witnessing a society in transformation.
100 years is a significant milestone, which Laviosa wants to dedicate, with gratitude, to those who have contributed to this enterprise, enriching it with dedication, will, talents.
A century ago, Carlo Laviosa founded the Maritime Agency.
Now, as Laviosa Minerals, it has become big.
It has an international dimension and continues to operate with care and attention, respecting the environment and a code of values shared not only in Italy, but also in France, Turkey and India.
Laviosa shares the thoughts of Maestro Claudio Abbado, who a few years ago stated that “culture is a primary good like water: theaters, libraries, exhibitions and museums are like so many aqueducts.”
Laviosa, then, through the Carlo Laviosa Foundation, intends to be like a small aqueduct for the Livorno community and the people who work in the Company.
Since 2016, the Foundation has promoted a path capable of narrating the world of work through the tool of photography.
In 2022, the Carlo Laviosa Foundation will intensify its activities to be even more present in the local reality, with cultural, educational and welfare activities, involving schools, sports associations and the whole territory in which the Laviosa Group companies operate.
It is with great pleasure that we are to inform you of the Laviosa Company’s centennial calendar, a calendar characterized by events promoted and organized in collaboration with the Carlo Laviosa Foundation and the Laviosa Welfare Team.
The centennial year and its events officially opens with the opening of the exhibition of works produced for the Gorgona Project – The Island of Freedom on May 21, 2022.
The Gorgona Project – The Island of Freedom has Flavia Bertolli, a teacher at the Majorana Scientific High School in Capannori, Lucca, as its coordinator.
This is a project with a strong social and educational value, which involved more than 200 students from high schools in Lucca, Capannori, Livorno and Cecina.
Following a visit to the island under the guidance of teachers and environmental experts, the students were asked to rework the new civic and ethical horizons explored in Gorgona through the creation of graphic panels and videos.
With their works, the students participated in a competition announced by the Foundation, which will award prizes to the works that best developed the directions and objectives: to illustrate in a permeating and clear manner “the values of education and work as tools for the acquisition of the freedom of the individual.”
These works will be displayed from May 21 to July 2, 2022 in the rooms of the Oil Bottini, in an exhibition sponsored by the Laviosa Foundation.
The Laviosa Foundation is in contact with the Livorno and Piombino Chamber of Commerceto train and connect future ex-convicts to the businesses that need them.
After an inmate has expiated his sentence and acquired professionalism, he is indeed entitled to be readmitted to society, of which he now has the tools to be part of in a responsible and productive way. Those who, after paying their debt to justice, are rejected by society, of which they are for all intents and purposes a part, will have no choice but to return to crime.
The problem of recidivism is a burden and a danger to all of us citizens.
Institutions and territorial bodies must take charge and therefore implement those indications (Art 77 of the 1975 law), which call on the President of the Chamber of Commerce, the trade unions the representative of direct growers, the Director of the Provincial Labor Office the other members of the Committee to provide concrete interventions so that the law is implemented for the Good and respect of all.
It is therefore necessary to recall Art 4 of our Constitution: ” The Republic recognizes the right of all citizens to work and promotes the conditions that make this right effective …” Between June and July will take place the “Summer Sailing School” project presented by Piero Starita, in collaboration with Circolo Nautico di Livorno and Moletto Nazario Sauro.
Federally qualified FIV (Italian Sailing Federation) instructors will hold a course with a weekly duration addressed to children and grandchildren of employees of the Laviosa group company and more generally to children and grandchildren of all stakeholders of the group companies (the stakeholders).
The sailing courses are aimed at girls and boys aged 6 to 14.
Girls and boys over 14 will also be able to participate with different programming.
The goal is to bring children and teens closer to the sport of sailing by engaging them during summer vacation in an educational and engaging activity.
A “Celebration Day” will be held from July 05 to 07, 2022.
Events celebrating the company’s centenary will be organized for all employees of the Laviosa Group’s plants: for the Livorno plants, an event will be held at the Fortezza Vecchia, while events in Sardinia, France, Turkey and India with the involvement of local authorities will be organized at the same time.
In July 2022 the Campo Natura event will be held at Laviosa Farm.
Once again this year the company will give the children of its employees the opportunity to experience a week of learning and fun, in close contact with the nature of the Tuscan hills.
The two weeks identified would be those in the month of July that run from 04.07 to 08.07 and/or from 11.07 to 15.07; each child will participate in one week of the Campus but, depending on the number of accessions, we will also be able to organize a second week.
The Campus is reserved for school-age children from 6 to 11 years of age, who will be constantly supervised by professional and experienced educators.
For golf enthusiasts, the Laviosa Golf Cup Competition will be held on September 10, 2022 at the Bellosguardo Golf Club in Vinci: an excellent opportunity to spend time together outdoors.
In November 2022, a Photographic Exhibition will be organized by Serafino Fasulo about which we will provide more information in the coming months During 2022, the new headquarters of the Carlo Laviosa Foundation will also be inaugurated at Via Scali D’Azeglio, 40 in the heart of the city of Livorno.
The Laviosa Welfare Team will also have many surprises in store for employees and stakeholders, offering interesting initiatives such as conventions with gyms, wellness and physiotherapy centers, workshops and tire shops. This will be complemented by the organization of corporate aperitifs to accompany the centennial celebrations, as well as other events organized for young and old alike.
