The third edition of Gorgona Camp, the residential of male and female students at Gorgona Island who together with inmates redevelop common living spaces, is enriched with great news!
In fact, the Laviosa Foundation, as part of Social Programming 2025 and Civic Education, is funding 15 scholarships for female students in the 16-18 age group for theater training at our Foundation in Livorno, which will end with a three-day residential experience on Gorgona Island.
The theater course, with actress and professional Chiara Migliorini, is held to create a spirit of cooperation and form the working group that will meet on Gorgona Island for three days, with the aim of developing knowledge and civic awareness.
There will be 10 appointments for male and female students to participate in, and each 2-hour meeting will have a predetermined theme.
The first meetings will be aimed at group formation through learning exercises related to theatrical propaedeutics, with work on space, rhythm, use of the body and voice through listening to oneself and others.
Next, the theme of INSIDE and OUT will be specifically linked to Gorgona, and elements related to the island as a physical place, a place linked to the sea, its crossing, myths and legends, the people who inhabit it, and what influences it from within and without will be analyzed artistically.
These reflections will give rise to suggestions that will develop into both theater practice and writing exercises, tying in with the workshop already underway with the group of inmate actors, of theater writing, led by Chiara Migliorini, entitled “Human Crossings.”
The group, thus formed, prepared and united will leave for the residential on the island on July 5-6-7, 2025, accompanied by Professors Flavia Bertolli and Giovanna Lo Giacco.
The male and female students, will spend quality and cooperative time together with the island’s inmates, aimed at producing beauty together. As usual, in agreement with the prison institution, places will be chosen to be redeveloped together by means of painting and creativity.
