Livorno, Aug. 6, 2020 – We invite everyone to participate in the opening of the double photo exhibition entitled “Work in Livorno despite Covid 19“which will be inaugurated on Friday, Aug. 21 in Livorno with two separate events: at 7 p.m. in Piazza Anita Garibaldi as part of Effetto Venezia and at 9:30 p.m. at the Carlo Laviosa Foundation in Via della Posta, 44.
The images will be exhibited in macro format, 24 hours a day, in Piazza Anita Garibaldi (also on Effetto Venezia weekends) and then in Piazza del Luogo Pio and, in smaller format, in the exhibition spaces of the Carlo Laviosa Foundation in Via della Posta, 44.
“Work in Livorno despite Covid 19” was the title of the photo contest sponsored by the Carlo Laviosa Foundation and the City of Livorno.
This was the third photo contest, but this year’s was really special because it was held shortly after the end of the lockdown and represented one of the very first events dedicated to culture in Livorno.
The contest was open to everyone: amateurs and professionals, and the shots had to tell the story of the work of all those in so many areas who never stopped, enabling the city to move forward.
The exhibition project will take place in two modes and on a special note, not least because part of it will be outdoors, so not in the usual museum venue of Villa Mimbelli, but in Piazza Anita Garibaldi (adjacent to Piazza del Luogo Pio).
The photos, in this first mode, will be in large format on fixed panels and visitable for the period of Effetto Venezia 24 hours a day and from August 31 to October 4 in Piazza del Luogo Pio, also 24 hours a day.
The same images (in a smaller format) will be the subject of an exhibition opening Aug. 21 (9:30 p.m.) in the exhibition spaces of the Carlo Laviosa Foundation (Via della Posta, 44).
There the exhibition will continue, with free admission, until Oct. 4 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only) with the following openings:
