FotoInCorso, is holding a workshop by Fulvio Bortolozzo in Livorno as part of the &#8220;Photography and the World of Work&#8221; project. &#8220;<em>The workshop aims to delve into the existing relationships between observation in places, urban and industrial, with the documentary-style photographs that can result<\/em>,&#8221; Fulvio Bortolozzo explains.  <em>The photographer, within the descriptive limits of his technical medium, reduces and orders the complexity of what he observes by making it experienceable through transfer into photographic images.<br \/>\nThe difference between the direct experience of things and photographs constitutes a &#8220;machine-made&#8221; iconography whose theoretical, technical and conceptual mechanisms of operation need to be thoroughly understood.<br \/>\nAs part of the seminar, some fundamental moments in the tradition associated with direct documentary-style photography will be traced.<br \/>\nThe excursus, starting from the Renaissance perspective, will go through the various authorial and collective experiences from the nineteenth-century missions to the neo-topography of the 1970s and beyond, up to the most recent class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by Fulvio<\/figcaption><\/figure><strong>BortolozzoFulvio Bortolozzo<\/strong> was born in 1957 in Turin, where he lives and works.<br \/>\nHe is a lecturer, photographer and curator.<br \/>\nHe graduated in 1980 from the School of Scenography at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.<br \/>\nHe uses the camera as an observational device.<br \/>\nSince 1998 he has been a lecturer in the three-year courses of the European Institute of Design in Turin.<br \/>\nSince 2003 he has been teaching courses, seminars and workshops in Theory and History of the Photographic Image.<br \/>\nIn 2006 his photographs are selected for Suoni e Visioni international exhibition dedicated to the last fifty years of Italian photography.<br \/>\nFrom 2009 to 2011 he gives life to the Gualino Observatory project, as part of which he curates the competition Lens Based Art Show (2010).<br \/>\nIn 2014 he curates the editorial project Questo Paese.<br \/>\nFrom 2015 to 2018 he publishes the magazine REST.<br \/>\nIn 2018 he continues the This Country project with the publication of two issues of QP magazine.<br \/>\nIn 2019 he starts the
